Battery Temperature Sensor for AGM, Gel & Flooded Batteries

Lead-acid batteries are sensitive to temperature. In the heat of an outback summer they need a lower charging voltage, and on a frosty morning in the high country they need a higher one. This replacement temperature sensor connects your Enerdrive AC or DC-DC battery charger to the battery itself, so the charger can adjust its voltage to suit.

Without temperature compensation, a charger can overcharge a hot AGM, gel or flooded battery and undercharge a cold one. That shortens battery life and, in extreme cases, risks thermal runaway. The sensor feeds live battery temperature back to the charger, which then optimises its charge profile for the conditions.

The sensor mounts directly to the battery post with a durable metal ring terminal, and its 7.5 m cable gives you plenty of reach for installs where the charger and battery sit some distance apart in a caravan, canopy or boat.

Use it to replace a lost, damaged or cut sensor, or to add one where the original was never fitted.

Running lithium? You don't need this sensor. Lithium batteries don't require temperature-compensated charging, and their own battery management system handles temperature protection.
